We are proud to announce that researchers from the Lab for Social and Human Capital Studieshave been invited to present their paper at the 53rd EBES Conference, which will be held in Madrid, Spain, on October 16–18, 2025. The event is organized by the Eurasia Business and Economics Society (EBES) and will be held in a hybrid format, allowing for both in-person and online participation.
The Lab’s paper, titled "Financial Literacy and Retirement Planning: Evidence from Uzbekistan," has been officially accepted for presentation. This study draws on original survey data collected by the Lab in rural districts of Uzbekistan, offering new empirical insights into how financial knowledge shapes long-term economic behavior, particularly retirement preparedness.
This marks another important milestone for the Lab, as it continues to promote data-driven, policy-relevant researchfrom Central Asia on international platforms. Participation in EBES will further amplify the voice of Uzbek researchersand foster new academic collaborations with global scholars in the fields of economics, finance, and human development.
